Q: What does YPR stand for?
A: Young Professionals of Racine
Q: What is the typical age of a YPR?
A: Most of our members fall between 25 – 35 years but we have younger and older members as well. We are not age restrictive.
Q: Who do you consider to be a “professional”?
A: A majority of our members work in white-collar office jobs, but our organization is open to all professions: artists, teachers, healthcare workers, etc.
Q: Do you have a formal monthly meeting?
A: We do not have a required monthly meeting for our members, but rather we offer 2 – 3 events per month for members to pick and choose from.
Q: What types of events do you hold?
YPR offers many networking events including a bi-monthly Alive After 5 event which is great for social networking with other YPR members. Our Business Blender occurs during the other months and it is a networking opportunity with the RAMAC (Racine Area Manufacturer’s and Commerce) membership that draws 200+. We also offer professional development events such as Executive Breakfasts and Learning Events. Other fun events include an annual golf outing, wine tasting, dodge ball tournament and Spring service project at the zoo.
Q: How many YPR members are there and how long have you been around?
A: We started in 2002 and have grown to an organization with 350+ members.
Q: How do I find out about events and activities:
A: The best source is our Livewire e-newsletter and our website at www.ypracine.org (you can sign up to receive Livewire from the home page.)
Q: What is the cost of being a member?
A: The yearly membership fee is $50.
Q: What is a Partner company and what are the benefits?
A: Partner companies are local employers who pay a yearly partnership fee which allows them to promote to the YPR membership via e-newsletter, website and Membership Perks card; and includes some or all of their employees as members (depending on partnership level.)
Q: What is the Membership Perks Card?
A: This is a card received upon registration and can be used at participating Partner locations for discounts and promotions. The card also acts as a member’s proof of membership to YPR.
